What is the World Trade Organization (WTO)?

The EU is a part of the WTO, which is the only global organization that regulates international trade disputes.

 

What Is North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)?

NAFTA was created to compete with the EU, and is the world's largest free trade agreement. It took three Presidents to implement it. The original purpose was to help the United States, Canada and Mexico compete with the European Union.  It has tripled trade, but also been criticized for outsourcing U.S. jobs and exploiting Mexico's farmers.
